Bill and Ann Promersberger

William “Bill” Promersberger came to NDSU (then NDAC) in 1939 as a faculty member in the small Agricultural Engineering Department. After obtaining his master’s degree from Kansas State University in 1941, he was named Chairman of the Agricultural Engineering Department and served in that capacity for 38 years. During his tenure, it grew from a 2-person department with 40 students to a 16- member fulltime staff with 200 students. He always took great interest in his students and followed their careers as they put their NDSU education to work in a wide variety of fields. This scholarship is given in his memory by family members and friends.
