Dennis and Melinda Anderson
As a graduate of Detroit Lakes High School, I appreciated the tuition reciprocity between Minnesota and North Dakota as I worked to pay my way through college. I was involved in the ASCE student chapter, was president of Tau Beta Pi, was chair of the concrete canoe project producing Buffalo Chip and Prairie Pride and managed to graduate at the top of a very talented Class of 1977. Throughout my career, my NDSU engineering education not only allowed me to compete and hold my own with contemporaries around the world, but it also allowed me to thrive from an entry level engineer to the head of engineering in my company. This scholarship is to give another aspiring civil engineering student from Minnesota an opportunity to achieve a similar rewarding career made possible by their NDSU engineering education.
