Dr. George and Patti (Jones) Scholarship

This scholarship is given in honor and memory of Dr. George L. Pratt, former Chairman of the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department. His office door was always open to his students to help them in any way possible and over the years he watched with pride the lives and careers of his many students. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at NDAC in 1951 and then went on to Kansas State University for his Master’s degree and to Oklahoma State University for his PhD. George and Patti (Jones) Pratt were married for 60 years. Patti graduated from NDAC in 1955 and was very active in many organizations on campus and had the honor of being elected Homecoming Queen in 1952. They had two children, Tom (1979 graduate of NDSU) and Nancy (1981 graduate of UND). They also have four granddaughters, two of whom are NDSU graduates.
