E. Dean Schroeder and David M. Schroeder

Donalda MacDonald Schroeder was born near Langdon, North Dakota in 1909. She was the sixth of seven children. She was educated at a country school and graduated from Langdon High School. She graduated from North Dakota Agricultural College in 1933 with a degree in Home Economics Education. She taught school in Park River and Dickinson, North Dakota before accepting a position as the Home Demonstration Agent for Grand Forks County.
Donalda married Elroy H. Schroeder who was the Grand Forks County School Superintendent. She and Elroy had two sons, Dean and David Schroeder. Although she did not work after she married, she remained committed to education in general and Home Economics specifically throughout her lifetime.
Donalda MacDonald Schroeder died on October 25, 2001 at the age of 92. This scholarship fund has been established by her family as a tribute to her dedication to the field of education and North Dakota State University.
