Grant Lebahn Memorial, Resource Gravity Construction Scholarship

Grant’s journey began on a family grain farm in rural Litchville, North Dakota. His active participation in various extracurricular activities during high school set the stage for his future. After graduating, he continued his quest for knowledge at North Dakota State University, proudly earning a degree in Civil Engineering in 1996, marking the beginning of his professional journey.

Following his graduation, Grant dedicated an impressive 22 years of his life to Hensel Phelps Construction Company, a testament to his commitment and loyalty. His journey took a new turn when he ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing his own consulting firm, Resource Gravity. In the fall of 2022, he accepted the Professor of Practice in Construction Management position at North Dakota State University, further expanding his horizons.

Known for his ability to bring order from chaos, Grant generously shared his ability to see the forest for the trees. Aspiring to become a professor, Grant excelled within the engineering building.

Additionally, Grant strove to be and create strong, healthy leaders in the construction industry. In the words of Benjamin Franklin, “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn,” a quote taken from Grant’s Resource Gravity website. Additionally, the following quote by Maya Angelou reminds us of the reason for the gaping hole now in our hearts, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
