Jay Leitch Natural Resources Management Memorial Scholarship

The Jay Leitch Natural Resources Management Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dr. Jay Leitch and his contributions to the field of natural resources management. Jay was well recognized and respected for his passion and dedication to teaching and advising students, policy makers, and the general public about the efficient use of our precious natural resources to obtain the greatest benefit to society, with particular emphasis on managing and preserving water.

Dr. Leitch held numerous leadership positions on local, regional, national, and international natural resource-focused boards, associations, and institutions throughout his career. Many of his former students and colleagues speak of the impact Jay had on their lives as a mentor and advisor during their studies and ultimate careers in natural resources management, as well as in the areas of agribusiness, agricultural economics, and economics. Jay retired from NDSU in 2010 as Dean of the College of Business Administration. Through this scholarship, the Leitch family is proud to further support the education of students in natural resources management in the School of Natural Resource Sciences.
