Keith J. and Vel Rae Burkholder Dietetics Scholarship

This scholarship is given for Dietetics since Vel Rae graduated with an undergraduate and graduate degree in Dietetics at NDSU. She worked in dietetics for 37 years, the last 23 as an associate professor. When Vel Rae retired, she was the Director of the Coordinate Program in Dietetics. Vel Rae was very active in the State and National Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics holding offices in both organizations. She was a site visitor for the accreditation of dietetic education programs for over 25 years traveling to many universities and hospitals all over the United States. Keith graduated in architecture from NDSU and worked in architecture firms and then was the City Planner for Fargo, interrupted for three years as the State Planner for North Dakota.
