Lance D. LeClair Memorial Scholarship
The Lance D. LeClair Memorial Scholarship is a tribute to the life and legacy of a beloved son, father, brother and friend. Lance attended NDSU from 2001-2009, first earning a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, then going on to earn degrees in pharmaceutical sciences and a doctorate in pharmacy.
Lance was an extremely hard worker. He worked at various pharmacies throughout his career and, at one time, opened and ran his own pharmacy. He started his pharmacy with a small loan, bought all the furnishings second hand, installed them himself, and was the only employee for over a year. For two years he worked every single day without a full day off. He was a licensed pharmacist in North Dakota, Minnesota, Texas, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia, Nevada, and Louisiana. He loved his time at NDSU and was a huge Bison fan. Lance put himself through school with very little help from his family, working, acquiring college loans, and being awarded scholarships.
Lance died unexpectedly on March 9, 2022, at the age of 39 and left behind many brokenhearted friends and family, including two young children.
The purpose if this scholarship is to provide financial support to an NDSU student seeking to earn a doctorate in pharmacy degree.
