Lt. Col. Barton E. Severson

Barton was born and raised on a small farm in Walsh County, North Dakota during the 1940s and 1950s. Following high school in Park River, Barton attended NDSU to earn his bachelor’s degree and later master’s degree. Following this formal education, he went on to a successful career in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1993. Barton passed from this life peacefully on December 4, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas.
