Margaret (Groethe) and J.H. Stickelmeyer Memorial Chemistry Scholarship

Margaret Ann Groethe and J.H. Stickelmeyer were born and raised in North Dakota. They met while students at NDSU in the 1950’s and were married soon thereafter. J.H. Stickelmeyer graduated with a B.S. chemistry degree and worked for the Dow Chemical Company in Michigan and Minnesota. During his career of more than 35 years at Dow, he successfuly applied his chemistry knowledge and other skills he learned at NDSU in multiiple technical and business roles. Margaret Stickelmeyer was a home economics major at NDSU and took chemistry and physics as electives because of her love for the sciences. She often applied her science knowledge to cooking and was an excellent cook and baker. Both parents shared their love of learning with their six daughters and, as a result, all graduated from college.
