Margaret Kaler

Margaret Kaler (Peggy Harbeke) pursued a Home Economics degree at NDSU
until she left the university to get married and move to California in 1961. She
completed her education at California State and taught home economics in the
Los Angeles, CA school district. She has a fond memory of her professor, Mrs.
Myrtle Challey, encouraging her to finish her degree. Peggy’s two sisters and her
brother also attended NDSU. Peggy lived in California for 50 years and then
returned to the Fargo area in 2012. It is her intention that this scholarship benefit
students who want to pursue their education in the College of Human Sciences
and Education.
