Wes Schreiner Scholarship
The Wes Schreiner Scholarship is inspired by the legacy of Wes Schreiner, an individual who was a brilliant scholar of computer science engineering and in particular the Linux operating system. Wes was a thoughtful individual devoted to the usage of Linux to build better, stronger, more secure and more efficient platforms for his business and non-profit clientele. Wes was frustrated with Microsoft and totally embraced the Linux language as a way to circumvent the higher costing and less reliable Microsoft operating systems bringing valuable, affordable and effective results to those companies whose computer systems he managed.
We had a strong sense of giving back, was ever faithful to his clients and always willing to help non-profit organizations with their computing needs. Wes was taken from this world much too early by Glioblastoma, a miserable disease which ravaged his beautiful brain until he finally succumbed to the relentless tumor that stole him from the world.
Wes would want the individual receiving this scholarship to be kind, to use their brain for good, and to give back to non-profit organizations that are in need of assistance with their computing efforts.
